Honey has been scratching noticeably more frequently for 2 perhaps 3 days - see the small red spot about 11 o'clock from the noticeable nipple
As I spend a lot of time at your living room dining table working on the laptop I haven't been in the best light to see this before. Honey never seems to scratch when we are out on a walk so the only time I noticed was at night when I put it down to her usual settling and cleaning herself routine. Or else she would occasionally scratch (but more frequently than normal) in the living room, but when I took a brief look a couple of times I didn't see the about half of a small fingernail sized, slightly raised area around which she scratched which has resulted in a noticeable area of redness and irritation that I would say is the size of a 25 cent coin overall, with the small 'hotspot' area that I was wondering could have been a bite or a scratch from being out and having sniffed around some branches / undergrowth.
Today Honey and I came with Jason to the glass studio (Honey hasn't been near glass, I am keeping her by my side upstairs in the Art studio and keeping a keen eye when we pass through the workshop downstairs - which is also very clean, there isn't glass laying around, just to pre-empt concerns in case..)
Now here I was able to notice her scratch (because she is literally next to me every minute of the day) And she will have a few scratching sessions per hour, however she is able to resist the urge if told to not scratch. So from this I gathered that she is not in a a serious condition and I wanted to propose that I keep a super close eye on her for the next 2-3 days to see if sitting next to her will prevent her from scratching and that may lead to the irritation healing by itself.
Otherwise I am completely ready to head over to Mission Pet Hospital tomorrow or Friday but Monday is more difficult as I have 2 German lessons, while they are several hours apart it would be extra helpful for me to be able to focus on preparation. It's been a while since I gave a lesson.
BUT if Honey is in discomfort then I'll also be ready to drop other plans and be available any time. (lessons between 10-12 & 5-7)
In short: any time is good for Honey and me.
In general Honey actually appear content and relaxed, so the scratchy area has not affected her mood, appetite or enjoyment of sniffing every tree that she can get me to stop at (which is about every tree we pass..)
Bearing in mind that she appear in a very good mood I thought I let you know about the itch but get your ok to wait it out a little before we get the doctor. Whatever you think is best.
We are out with Honey today so that we can take her with us to the interview. I didn't want to leave her at home alone too long. Our appointment - interview is at 7pm and I feel bad because Puddin is getting her dinner late today but we left plenty out for her this morning. This is the only time either of the pets has been left alone for more than a 5 hours. I don't think they have been alone even that long up to date. I am always around.
Puddin was definitely also affected by the full moon yesterday! Goodness, none of us could sleep. Poor Jason, he is not a girl and hence less susceptible to moon-induced-insomnia.. We collectively made sure he suffered with us...
