Living in an RV in California
2015_California
I returned to California on June 1st 2015, where Jason and I spent 2 months housesitting in San Francisco. Looking after the most adorable pets whose family spent 2 months visiting more family on the opposite coast (NY side)
{{some of the pictures here are just diary snapshots for my personal pleasure, while others are more carefully selected, bear with me incase either annoy or inspire you}}
We are now following up with spending the remaining summer living in a stationary RV on the grounds of the glassblowing studio where Jason spends a lot of time working and creating...
Yes, it is a little unconventional but it allows Jason to develop his glasswork without both of our efforts having to go towards rent payments (nothing any better than this RV for under $850 per month, really, nothing. And the RV is probably going to cost us $300 with Jason having instant access to the Glass Studio, upstairs from which he also rents an art studio, where all his glass is stored and he can easily spend evenings inspecting his work, drawing design ideas and preparing his strategies for the next time he can rent the glass studio downstairs...
It isn't ideal, but it is summer and the things you do for love... )
There isn't a whole lot of space for me here, but hopefully enough to make some drawings, there is enough space for my brain, which is really good. It is fun being surrounded by all these glassmakers. Mostly everybody blows large glass out of the furnace but there is also a guy called Mo who shares our art studio upstairs and he works with lamp worked glass (for this you work from a desk, with as you might have guessed small torches instead of a large furnace containing the unceasing fires of fury)..
Here we are. Please leave comments or else keep in touch. Of course come back and check for more photographs in this gallery. It really should become a sort of diary of my time here but already is missing most of the first 2 months of my time in California. What happened there? Maybe I can fill in some of that wide gaping gap..
Buy prints if you like any of the images. your purchase feed me fruit and coffee. Both help my inspiration and overall happiness.
Or just enjoy sharing our wild unruly ride through life. Share your's, too?!
